Rays Drop Second Straight In Minnesota

The Minnesota Twins (35-26) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (34-25) 6-5 on Saturday afternoon at Target Field in Minneapolis.

The Rays got the first three runs of this game with RBI singles from Ji-Man Choi and Yandy Diaz to build a 3-0 lead before Shane Baz even threw a pitch. Baz (0-1, 19.29) could not get through the third inning before loading the bases and allowing a Luis Arraez grand slam that gave the Twins the lead.

The Rays were able to pull within 5-4 and 6-5, but that would be as close as they could get as the Twins held on for the win.

Tampa Bay now looks to avoid being swept on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Neil Solondz hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at 12:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
