The Tampa Bay Rays (29-21) defeated the Texas Rangers (24-25) 4-3 on Wednesday night in Arlington, Texas.
The Rangers took a 2-0 lead with homers from Sam Huff in the second and Nathaniel Lowe in the fourth. Randy Arozarena homered in the seventh, and Harold Ramirez came up with a RBI single in the eighth, for the Rays to tie the game 2-2 and force extra innings.
Both teams traded runs in the tenth, before Ji-Man Choi gave the Rays the lead for good with a RBI double in the eleventh. Matt Wiser worked the bottom of the eleventh for the Rays for his first save of the season.
The Rays will now look to salvage a series split with the Rangers on Thursday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 PM on Thursday afternoon - pregame coverage begins with the Inside Pitch hosted by Pat Donovan and Aaron Jacobson at 1:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
