The Tampa Bay Rays (13-10) defeated the Oakland A's (10-13) 6-1 on Monday night in Oakland.
Yandy Diaz led off the game with a homer to give the Rays an early lead. Oakland tied the game in the bottom of the second, before the Rays scored two in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth en route to a 6-1 win.
Drew Rasmussen (2-1, 3.13) got the win after allowing one earned run on one hit in five innings of work in which he struck out three and walked one.
The Rays will look to win the series on Tuesday night. First pitch Tuesday night is scheduled for 9:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Jay Recher hosting the Inside Pitch at 8:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
