The Tampa Bay Rays (6-6) defeated the Chicago Cubs (6-5) 6-5 on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
The Rays took an early 4-0 lead, then a 6-3 lead before hanging onto a 6-5 win. Wander Franco continued his great start to 2022, going 3-for-5 with his first home run of the season. He now has a .404 batting average through the first twelve games of the season.
Matt Wisler was effective as the opener, before giving way to Josh Fleming (2-1, 5.40) who picked up the win. Andrew Kittredge worked the final two innings to pick up his second save of the season.
The Rays now look to win the series against the Cubs on Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Jay Recher hosting the Inside Pitch at 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
