PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Tampa Bay Rays have placed RH Shane Baz (arthroscopic surgery, right elbow) on the 10-day IL (retroactive to April 4), placed RH Pete Fairbanks (right lat strain) on the 60-day IL, recalled LH Brendan McKay from Triple-A Durham and placed him on the 60-day IL (recovery from thoracic outlet syndrome decompression surgery) and selected RH Chris Mazza to the major league roster. This finalizes the club’s Opening Day, 28-man roster:
