The Toronto Blue Jays (85-66) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (93-59) 4-2 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field to even the three game series at a game apiece.
Brandon Lowe drove in the first run of the game in the second, but the Blue Jays answered with a run in the third to tie the game before Lourdes Gurriel homered in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead. After the Rays tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, the Blue Jays reclaimed the lead with a Bo Bichette RBI in the top of the sixth. Teoscar Hernandez drove in the game's final run in the eighth inning to lift Toronto to a 4-2 win.
Drew Rasmussen got the start, allowing two earned runs on four hits in five innings while striking out three and walking one. Nick Anderson (0-1, 3.60) took the loss after allowing a run in the sixth, before Michael Wacha came into the game to pitch the final three innings for the Rays.
The Rays look to bounce back and win the series in the finale on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 3:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with the Inside Pitch hosted by Pat Donovan and Aaron Jacobson at 2:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
