Blue Jays Win Series Over Rays

The Toronto Blue Jays (82-64) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (90-56) 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon in Ontario. The Rays finished a nine game, three city road trip with a 4-5 record and will be back at Tropicana Field this weekend.

Bo Bichette hit a three run home run in the first to get to Michael Wacha (3-5, 5.56) early. Wacha took the loss after allowing six earned runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking two in six innings of work.

Bichette finished the the game 2-for-3 with five RBIs and a run scored. After that homer in the first, he drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the third, then added an RBI single in the fifth to help set the pace.

The Rays got a solo homer from Mike Zunino in the fifth, and a two-run homer from Brett Phillips in the eighth, but it would not be enough as Toronto held on to a 6-3 win.
