The Tampa Bay Rays (54-38) fell to the Atlanta Braves (45-46) 9-0 on Saturday night in Atlanta.
The Braves pulled away with a six run fourth inning. They added a solo home run from Freddie Freeman in the fifth, and two more runs in the seventh, to pull away to a 9-0 defeat.
Max Fried (7-5, 4.29) kept the Rays guessing all night, pitching seven shutout innings on four hits while striking out seven and walking one. He also had a great offensive night going 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored. Josh Fleming (7-5, 3.93) took the loss for the Rays.
The Rays and Braves now meet in the rubber game of their three game series Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:20 PM - pregame coverage begins with Neil Solondz and This Week In Rays Baseball at 11:30 AM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
