Rays Walk Off With 9-8 Win Over Indians

The Tampa Bay Rays (49-36) defeated the Cleveland Indians (42-40) 9-8 on Monday night at Tropicana Field.

The Rays took an early lead with a grand slam from Brandon Lowe in the second, but the Indians were able to rally and take an 8-5 lead. The Rays got runs in the sixth and seventh to pull within 8-7. After Wander Franco drove in a run to tie the game, the Rays walked off when Yandy Diaz reached on a fielders choice that allowed Randy Arozerena to score.

The Rays are now off Tuesday because of Tropical Storm Elsa - they are scheduled to play a single-admission doubleheader against the Indians Wednesday beginning at 12:10 at Tropicana Field. Hear both games beginning with pregame coverage at 11:30 AM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
