Rays Fall To Mariners Friday Night For Fourth Straight Loss

The Tampa Bay Rays (43-28) fell to the Seattle Mariners (36-36) 5-1 on Friday night in Seattle.

The Rays got the scoring started with an RBI from Yandy Diaz in the top of the first inning, but Seattle answered quickly. The Mariners got four runs in the bottom of the first, and added another in the bottom of the third, to build a 5-1 lead that would be the final score.

Michael Wacha (1-2, 5.19) allowed five runs, all of them earned, on eleven hits in three and two third innings while striking out two and walking one. Yusei Kikuchi (4-3, 3.46) was brilliant for the Ms, allowing just one earned run on four hits in seven innings of work while striking out six and walking three.

The two teams now meet in game three of the four game series on Saturday night. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 10:10 PM - pregame coverage begins at 9:30 PM with Neil Solondz on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
