The Chicago White Sox (42-25) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (43-25) 3-0 on Tuesday evening in Chicago. The three game series between the teams with the two best records in the American League is now tied 1-1.
Chicago got their scoring in the middle innings. Danny Mendick drove in two in the fourth, and Adam Engel hit a solo shot in the fifth, to account for the three runs. The Rays offense was shut down by Dallas Keuchel (6-1, 3.78) who pitched seven shutout innings. Liam Hendriks picked up his eighteenth save for Chicago.
Shane McClanahan (2-2, 4.42) went five innings, allowing three runs, two of them earned, on seven hits while striking out four and walking one, for the Rays.
The Rays and White Sox meet in the rubber game of the series on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 2:10 PM - pregame coverage begins at 1:00 PM with the Inside Pitch hosted by Pat Donovan and Aaron Jacobson on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
