Rays Open Orioles Series With Win

The Tampa Bay Rays (40-24) defeated the Baltimore Orioles (22-40) 4-2 on Friday evening at Tropicana Field.

The Orioles scored the first two runs of the game in the third inning, but Manuel Margot came through with an RBI in the bottom of the third inning to pull within 2-1. The Rays added two runs in the fourth and another in the seventh to secure a 4-2 win.

Brandon Lowe hit a two-run homer in the fourth, while Manuel Margot finished the game 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Ryan Yarbrough (4-3, 3.63) got the win after pitching six innings in which he allowed only two unearned runs on three hits while striking out six and walking none.

The Rays and Orioles meet in game two of their three game series on Saturday afternoon. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 4:10 - pregame coverage begins with Neil Solondz at 3:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
