The Tampa Bay Rays (39-23) defeated the Washington Nationals (24-33) 3-1 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field.
Tyler Glasnow set the tone for the Rays, pitching seven innings while allowing one earned run on six hits while striking out eleven and walking one. Diego Castillo picked up his eleventh save after shutting the door in the ninth.
The Rays offense came early in the game from Manuel Margot - he hit a solo home run in the first inning. In the fifth inning MIke Brosseau and Mike Zunino each added RBIs to lift the Rays to the victory.
The Rays and Nationals now wrap up their short two game series on Wednesday night. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 7:10 - pregame coverage begins with Jay Recher and the Inside Pitch at 6 on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
