Rays Lose Kiermaier and Drop Game To Athletics Saturday Afternoon

The Oakland Athletics (21-14) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (18-17) 6-3 on Saturday afternoon in Oakland. The win gives the As the series win and hands the Rays their second consecutive loss.

Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier left the game in the second inning after injuring his left wrist attempting to steal second base. Though x-rays were negative, Rays manager Kevin Cash said after the game that was was pretty sore and oould be for a few days.

Tyler Glasnow (4-2, 2.37) took the loss after allowing three earned runs in five and two third innings of work while striking out eleven and walking four. The As got a lot of offense from Seth Brown - after ending the game with a walk off home run on Friday night, he hit another home run in the first inning on Saturday. He added a RBI single in the seventh inning to finish the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

The Rays now look to avoid being swept on Sunday when they wrap up the three game series against the As. First pitch is scheduled for 4:07 PM - pregame coverage beings with Neil Solondz and This Week In Rays Baseball at 2:30 on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
