Rays Bats Come Alive For Fifth Straight Win

The Tampa Bay Rays (10-8) blew out the Kansas City Royals (9-7) 14-7 on Tuesday night in Kansas City for their fifth straight win.

The Rays scored early thanks in large part to some mistakes by the Royals defense, as well as two bases loaded walks that made it 5-0. After Kansas City put together some offense of their own to pull within 5-4 and 7-5, Tampa Bay pulled away with four runs in the sixth and three runs in the ninth.

Andrew Kittredge (3-0, 2.25) picked up the win out of the bullpen for Tampa Bay.

The Rays now look for the sweep of Kansas City on Wednesday night - first pitch is scheduled for 8:10 with pregame coverage beginning with Jay Recher and the Inside Pitch at 7 on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
