Rays Come From Behind To Knock Off Marlins For Second Win Of Season

The Tampa Bay Rays (2-0) defeated the Miami Marlins (0-2) 6-4 on Friday night in Miami.

The Rays built a 2-0 lead in this game with solo homers from Austin Meadows in the 6th and Manuel Margot in the 7th. Miami answered, though, as they scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh and added a run in the eighth to take a 4-2 lead and appeared to be headed for the first win of the season.

Tampa Bay would answer, however, with a four run ninth inning - led by a three-run home run from Joey Wendle - to rally for a 6-4 win. Ryan Yarbrough went five and two third scoreless innings for the Rays - Andrew Kittredge got the win out of the bullpen, while Diego Castillo picked up his second save in as many nights for the Rays.

Tampa Bay now looks to try and sweep the Marlins to begin the season on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 - coverage begins with This Week In Rays Baseball at 4:30 on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
