The presentation of the William Harridge Trophy for the championship of the American League is usually done with lots of hugging and celebration, not to mention a lot of carbonated adult beverages. But the Tampa Bay Rays made sure that even in a time of pandemic, the presentation meant something.
Rays president Matt Silverman, executive vice president of baseball operations and general manager Erik Neander, and manager Kevin Cash were on hand for the ceremony in place of principal owner Stuart Sternberg, who will join the team in Arlington.
