Saturday's Rays-Jays Game Suspended, Will Resume Sunday With Rays Up 1-0

Austin Meadows is congratulated by third-base coach Rodney Linares after Meadows' third-inning home run

Saturday night's Tampa Bay Rays-Toronto Blue Jays game has been suspended after a torrential downpour hit the Buffalo area.

The game was delayed at 7:59 p.m. with the Rays leading the Blue Jays 1-0 after three and a half innings were played. Austin Meadows provided the Rays' lone run with a solo home run off Toronto starter Chase Anderson to lead off the third inning.

Umpires suspended the game after a two-hour delay.

Saturday's game will resume Sunday at 1:07 p.m. in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Rays holding that 1-0 lead.

Sunday's regularly scheduled game will start 30 minutes after the completion of the suspended game and will be a seven-inning affair, while the suspended game will be played to a full nine innings.

WDAE will provide coverage of both games, starting at 11 a.m. as Steve Carney hosts the Inside Pitch. This Week in Rays Baseball with Neil Solondz will follow the Inside Pitch at 11:30, with pregame coverage to start at 12:30 p.m.
