Ji-Man Choi had never hit right-handed in a big-league game before Sunday's contest against the Toronto Blue Jays. Facing left-hander Anthony Kay in the third, Choi struck out. However in the sixth, the first baseman got a hold of a fastball on the first pitch and sent it on to the porch beyond center field.
Choi has hit right-handed in batting practice, and also did so in Tuesday's intrasquad game. The last time he hit right-handed in a regular season game was in 2015, when he was with Triple-A Tacoma.
