CASTILLO COULD MISS WEEKEND SERIES: The Rays Friday placed relief pitcher Diego Castillo on the paternity list, meaning the right-hander will miss Opening Day, and could miss the entire weekend series against the Blue Jays.
Castillo is coming off a 5-8 season with a 3.41 earned run average and eight saves in 2018. He's expected to be with Nick Anderson and Jose Alvarado a key piece of Tampa Bay's late bullpen.
To take his spot on the active roster, infielder Daniel Robertson, who was optioned to the alternate training site Thursday, has been recalled to the active roster.
