MLB Announces Prospective Season To Start At End Of July

Any potential agreement between the owners of Major League Baseball teams and their players would not come to fruition, but it seems like we will have baseball anyway in 2020.

After the 38-man executive board of the MLB Players Asociation voted Monday to reject the final proposal for a 60-game season, the league announced that they would look to start up a second round of Spring Training by July 1, with a 60-game regular season reportedly starting July 24-26, per multiple reports.

"In order to produce a schedule with a specific number of games, we are asking the Players Association to provide us by 5:00 pm (ET) [Tuesday] with two pieces of information," a statement from the league reads. "The first is whether players will be able to report to camp within seven days (by July 1). The second is whether the Players Association will agree on the Operating Manual which contains the health sand safety protocols necessary to give us the best opportunity to conduct and complete our regular season and Postseason."
