Rays Get Back To Work With Red Sox Coming To Port Charlotte

PORT CHARLOTTE (WDAE) -- After getting the day off on Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Rays return to the field at home tonight, as the Boston red Sox make the trek up from Fort Myers for a Grapefruit League matchup. Minor-leaguer Shane McClanahan will get the start, taking on Eduardo Rodriguez. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35, with coverage on WDAE beginning at 6:30.

GLASNOW, YARBROUGH EACH THROW SIM GAMES TUESDAY: While the Raya may have closed their facility Tuesday, there were a handful of players that got work in to stay on schedule for the regular season.

Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough threw four simulated innings on the back field in Port Charlotte, facing Nate Lowe, Daniel Robertson, and Mike Zunino. He got to the 60 pitch mark, throwing 40 for strikes. Meanwhile, right-hander Tyler Glasnow worked three innings, throwing 50 pitches to Lowe, Robertson and Kevan Smith. Pete Fairbanks also worked a simulated inning, with 21 pitches thrown to the same three hitters.
