Wander On The Field: Franco To Make First Grapefruit League Appearance

PORT CHARLOTTE (WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays will split their squad for the only time Thursday, as they travel to Tampa to take on the New York Yankees and host the Detroit Tigers at Charlotte Sports Park. Tyler Glasnow will get the start in Port Charlotte, while Aaron Slegers will start the game at Steinbrenner Field. Both contests have a 1:05 scheduled first pitch.

FRANCO TO MAKE GRAPEFRUIT LEAGUE DEBUT TODAY: The top prospect in all of baseball, switch-hitting shortstop Wander Franco, will make his Grapefruit League debut today at Charlotte Sports Park. Rays manger Kevin Cash said the 18-year-old will come on to replace Willy Adames at shortstop today, then start Friday's game in West Palm Beach against the Nationals.
