He spent parts of five seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays, and Brandon Guyer will be known for a couple of things: Being one of three Rays players to homer in his first major league at-bat, and being hit by a pitch more than anyone in team history.
Guyer was hit by a pitch 58 times in just 978 plate appearances, and average of once every 16.86 plate appearances, and the number of HBP’s he racked up in his final two seasons with Tampa Bay astounded SB Nation’s John Bois and Alex Rubinstein to the point they had to make a video about it.
