ST. PETERSBURG (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays honored their former manager Joe Maddon after the first inning of Tuesday night's game against Maddon's current club, the Chicago Cubs.
Tuesday marked Maddon's first visit to Tropicana Field since leaving the club following the 2014 season.
In his nine seasons with the Rays, Maddon went 754-705, winning a pair of American League East titles in 2008 and 2010 and two more wild card berths in 2011 and 2013. He led the 2008 team to the franchise's only World Series appearance, losing to the Philadelphia Phillies in five games.
