Archer Leaves Saturday With Injury

Tampa Bay Rays starter Chris Archer's night in Chicago started badly and ended worse.

Archer left Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox after throwing just eight pitches with an undisclosed injury following back-to-back home runs by Alen Hanson and Yolmer Sanchez.  He was replaced by Austin Pruitt.

Since being called up to the big-league for good on June 1, 2013, the 28-year-old has not missed a start due to injury, a stretch of 150 consecutive outings.

UPDATE 8:20 PM: The Rays announced Archer left the game as a precaution with "right lateral forearm tightness."

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times says the training staff will monitor Archer to determine if he'll be able to make his next start.
