ST. PETERSBURG (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays will be getting a big piece of their defensive and offensive lineup back tonight.
Manager Kevin Cash informed Scott Braun of MLB Network Radio Friday afternoon that Kevin Kiermaier will be activated from the 60-day disabled list and be in the starting lineup.
Kiermaier has been on the disabled list since June 9, when he suffered a fracture in his hip while sliding into first base against the Chicago White Sox.
To make room of the active roster for Kiermaier, outfielder Mallex Smith was optioned to Triple-A Durham.
