Add Cash To Rays MASH Unit

Another member of the Tampa Bay Rays finds himself among the team's walking wounded, but this time it's not a player.

Manager Kevin Cash suffered a fractured ankle Sunday morning in Baltimore while running, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

According to Topkin, Cash was running outside the stadium and while trying to cross a set of light-rail tracks, rolled his ankle.  The manager had X-rays on his ankle, which showed the 19-year-old former catcher fractured the joint.

The injury means that you'll probably see pitching coach Jim Hickey not only make his normal mound visits, but he could also be the coach called upon to make pitching changes while Cash is recovering from his injury.
