Andriese Leaves Tuesday's Game With Injury

UPDATE 9:24 PM: The Rays say that Andriese left the game with what's being called a mild groin strain.  The team say they're hoping the right-hander won't have to miss a starter, as they have two off days before his next scheduled turn in the rotation.

The Tampa Bay Rays pitching staff, already depleted after a couple of long contests, took another hit Tuesday.

The Rays saw starter Matt Andriese depart with two out in the second inning with an undisclosed injury.

After striking out Ryan Rua, Andriese was shown apparently trying to stretch his groin.  He threw one pitch to Delino DeShields Jr. before manager Kevin Cash and head trainer Ron Porterfield removed him for the game.

Chih-Wei Hu, just recalled from Triple-A Durham, took over for Andriese.
