The Florida Gators (2-2) defeated Mississippi State (1-3) 45-28 on Saturday afternoon in Starkville, Mississippi.
Graham Mertz went 19-for-21 with 201 yards passing and three touchdowns, while adding another 24 yards and a score on the ground. Rotating with DJ Lagway, Lagway went 7-for-7 for 76 yards passing.
The Gators offense went for 503 yards - 277 yards passing and 226 yards rushing - but the defense allowed 480 yards to the Bulldogs. Florida built a 28-7 first half lead en route to the win.
The Gators now have a bye week before hosting UCF on October 5th.
