The Texas A&M Aggies (2-1, 1-0) defeated the Florida Gators (1-2, 0-1) 33-20 on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville.
The Aggies built a 20-0 halftime lead en route to the blowout win. Backup quarterback Marcel Reed accounted for three touchdowns, filling in for injured starter Conner Weigman - he threw for two touchdowns while running for another.
For the Gators, Graham Mertz went 12-for-15 with 195 yards, one touchodwn and one interception. He alternated series at quarterback with DJ Lagway, who went 6-for-13 with 54 yards and a touchdown while throwing two interceptions.
The Gators now go on he road to play Mississippi State next Saturday. Kickoff on September 21st is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
