The Florida State Seminoles (12-0) defeated the Florida Gators (5-7) 24-15 on Saturday night in Gainesville. The win gives the Seminoles a perfect regular season, and they finish the season ranked number four in the college football playoff rankings.
The Gators scored first and built a 12-7 lead going into halftime. They led 15-14 going into the forth quarter and looked poised to pull an upset in the rivalry game.
After the Seminoles kicked a field goal midway through the fourth to give them a 17-15 lead, Trey Benson clinched the victory with a 26-yard touchdown run with 2:48 to go in the game that would be enough for the Semionles. For Benson, it was his third touchdown run of the day, as he ran for 95 yards on 19 carries in the win.
For the Gators, that ends their season with a 5-7. For the Seminoles, they now prepare to play #9 Louisville in the ACC Championship Game next Saturday. Kickoff in the title game is scheduled for 8:00 PM on Saturday night in Charlotte, NC.
