Gators Hire Todd Golden As Basketball Coach

The Florida Gators have hired Todd Golden to be their head men's basketball coach. He replaces Mike White, how left to be the head men's basketball coach at Georgia.

Golden has been the head coach at the University of San Francisco since 2019. He leaves USF with a record of 57-36 and led the Dons to the NCAA Tournament for this first time in 24 years. As a ten-seed in the NCAA Tournament, their season ended with a 92-88 in overtime to seven seed Murray State on Thursday.

He inherits a Gators team that finished the regular season with a record of 19-13 before losing to Texas A&M in the first round of the SEC Tournament. They failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament and are currently competing in the NIT.

The Gators next NIT game comes up against Xavier on Sunday in Cincinnati. Tipoff Sunday is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
