Mike White Headed To Georgia, Gators Headed To NIT

The Florida Gators are headed to the NIT, but they will be doing so without their head coach.

It was announced Sunday evening that Mike White was leaving Florida to take the head coaching job at Georgia. The Bulldogs fired Tm Crean after the team went 6-26 this season, which ended with an 86-51 loss to Vanderbilt in the first round of the SEC Tournament in Tampa on March 9th.

The Gators will be playing more basketball this season, however, as the program announced Sunday night they have accepted a bid in the NIT. They will host Iona in the first round NIT matchup on March 16th.

Tipoff in the first round matchup between Florida and Iona is scheduled for 9 PM ET on Wednesday, March 16th.
