Gators Roll Past Alabama 71-53

The Florida Gators (14-11, 6-6) picked up their second consecutive win, rolling past the Alabama Crimson Tide (15-10, 6-6) 71-53 on Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa.

Andrew Nembhard was phenomenal for the Gators, as the freshman scored a career high 21 points without missing a shot - he went 9-for-9 from the field, including 2-for-2 from beyond the three point arc and making his only free throw opportunity. The Gators built a 35-26 halftime lead before surviving an Alabama push back in the second half before it became too troublesome. Keyontae Johnson scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Gators, while KeVaughn Allen added 13 points. All told the Gators shot 54 percent from the field.

The Gators return to action on Wednesday when they head to Baton Rouge to battle LSU. Tipoff is set for 7 PM - you can hear the game throughout Tampa Bay on AM 1250 WHNZ.
