The Florida Gators (18-11, 9-7) knocked off 12th ranked Auburn (24-5, 12-4) 72-66 on Saturday night in Gainesville.
KeVaughn Allen led the way for the Gators, scoring 24 points including a 60-foot buzzer beater to end the first half, and some huge 3-pointers in the closing minutes. The Gators built a 33-24 lead at halftime and had little trouble maintaining that lead in the second half. For Florida, it was their 11th consecutive win in the series and a huge boost for a Gators team that had lost three in a row and was having growing concerns about making the NCAA Tournament next month.
The Gators return to action on Tuesday night when they head to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide - tipoff is scheduled for 7 PM and can be heard throughout Tampa Bay at 6:25 on 620 WDAE & 95.3 FM.
