Gators Knock Off South Carolina For 9th Straight Win

The 13th ranked Florida Gators (23-5, 13-2) won their ninth straight game on Tuesday night, knocking off South Carolina (20-8, 10-5) 81-66 in Gainesville.

A month after the Gamecocks knocked off Florida in Columbia, in large part by keeping Florida from scoring from behind the three point arc, the Gators made nine shots from behind the arc.  KeVaughn Allen began that trend by hitting a three on the game's opening possession en route to a game high 26 points, while also grabbing seven rebounds.  Devin Robinson added fourteen points and six rebounds for the Gators - South Carolina was led by 23 points and ten rebounds from Sindarius Thornwell.

After making early shots to start the game, Florida took a 35-33 lead into halftime.  The Gators were able to take control in the second half, outscoring South Carolina 46-33 and making six huge three-point shots as they were able to take control.

The Gators now head to Kentucky for a huge battle against the eleventh-ranked Wildcats, who Florida beat 88-66 on February 4th.  Tipoff from Rupp Arena is scheduled for 2 PM on Saturday and can be heard throughout Tampa Bay on AM 1250 WHNZ.
