Gators Get Huge Win Over #8 Kentucky 88-66

The 24th ranked Florida Gators (18-5, 8-2) took the lead early and never trailed en route to a 88-66 win over #8 Kentucky (18-5, 8-2) on Saturday night in Gainesville.

Florida scored the first points of the game and built a 34-26 lead at halfitime.  Florida really took control in the second half with a 13-0 run that had the capacity crowd at the O'Connel Center rattling.  It was the Gators first win this season over a ranked opponent and second under head coach Mike White in twelve tries.  For Kentucky, it was their third loss in four games and they finished with a season low in points and shooting percentage at 37%.

Kasey Hill led the way with 21 points for the Gators while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out six assists.  Devin Robinson added 16 points and nine rebounds for a team who outrebounded Kentucky 54-29.  De'Aaron Fox led Kentucky with 19 points off the bench - one of only two Wildcats (Malik Monk was the other) to score in double digits.

Florida is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Georgia.  Tipoff between the Gators and Bulldogs is scheduled for 7 PM Tuesday in Athens and can be heard on 620 WDAE and 95.3 FM with pregame coverage beginning at 6:25.
