Man Kills Father, Injures Mother in Video Game Dispute Turned Deadly

Bartow, FL - A 23-year-old Florida man has been arrested after allegedly shooting his parents, resulting in his father's death, following a dispute over video game usage.

According to WTSP, Bartow Police received a distress call from 58-year-old Susan Voigt, reporting that her son had shot her and her husband, 64-year-old Marvin Voigt, at their residence on Saturday night.

Officers arrived to find Marvin deceased in the driveway with gunshot wounds, while Susan was seriously injured inside the home.

According to authorities, the suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended in Orlando during a traffic stop.

He now faces charges of murder and attempted murder.

Investigations suggest that the altercation stemmed from the father's concern over his son's excessive time spent playing video games.

This tragic incident underscores the potential dangers of domestic disputes escalating into violence.

The suspect is currently held without bond, awaiting trial.
