Miami Commissioners Try To Strike A Soccer Stadium Deal

"To be or not to be?" that's the question when it comes to Miami's soccer stadium deal. Commissioners trying yet again today to strike a deal after voting last month against a plan to lease Melreese golf course to the Inter Miami team, saying the no-bid contract needed to be revised. This means Inter Miami could remain in Fort Lauderdale longer than expected. Commissioner Steve Glassman says the city is prepared to host the team at Lockhart Stadium indefinitely. Miami Commissioners can either vote for a deal today or kill it altogether and put the entire project out to bid. Inter Miami will play it's first game in Ft. Lauderdale in March of next year..
