Home For Homeless Female Veterans To Open In Lake Worth Beach

A local non-profit hopes to open a home for homeless female veterans in Lake Worth Beach.

The executive director of Operation 120 says it would be the first of its kind in South Florida.

The group has leased a three-bedroom house on Sunset Drive and they were able to collect things like beds, furniture, kitchen items, even a Christmas tree through donations.

The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center will help select the women who will live in the home and they'll get help with preparing a resume and finding a job with the plan of having two to three women staying there for an average of three months.

The first residents are expected to move in sometime before Christmas.

There are no other homes for homeless female veterans in South Florida and Operation 120 welcomes donations. Call 561-463-8387 or Click Here.
