Battle Over Formula One Racing At Hard Rock Stadium Rounds Another Corner

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez pulling out all the stops before a checkered flag is raised in the battle over bringing Formula One racing to Hard Rock Stadium in 2021. The mayor issuing a rare veto today in an effort to allow both sides time to reach a compromise. Just last month, Miami Gardens commissioners approved a resolution calling for commission approval of the road closures needed to run the race around Hard Rock using public roads facing nearby neighborhoods. Residents are worried about all the headaches the race will bring. Supporters say the race will bring in millions of dollars and jobs.
