President Trump Files Papers To Become A Full-Time Florida Resident

U.S. President Donald Trump Visits South Korea

President Trump and the first lady have filed for Florida residency.

In documents filed in Palm Beach County a few weeks ago, the "declaration of domicile" notes that the Trumps formerly resided at Trump Tower in New York City, and that their permanent residency will now be Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.

It lists the White House and his private golf club in New Jersey as "other places of abode."

After the report about the filing surfaced in the New York Times, the president took to Twitter to explain that despite the fact that he pays millions of dollars in city, state and local taxes to New York each year, he has been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state.

Trump notes that the White House is the place he has come to love and will stay for, "hopefully another 5 years as we MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN."

New York's governor and the mayor of New York City have reacted, with Governor Andrew Cuomo saying in a statement "The New York Times reports that President Trump has filed residency paperwork for Florida. Good riddance. It's not like Mr. Trump paid taxes here anyway. He's all yours, Florida."

Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted "Don't let the door hit you on the way out or whatever."

He followed that up with another message aimed at Floridians.

New York's mayor wished his "deepest condolences to the good people of Florida."
