Plans For MLS Stadium at Miami Freedom Park Under Spotlight At City Hall

Miami Commissioners kicking around ideas for plans to built a 1-billion-dollar retail hotel and Major League Soccer stadium at Miami Freedom Park. David Beckham's InterMiami CF team will make a presentation and commissioners will then ask questions about the 26-thousand seat stadium and 58 acre public park. Mayor Francis Suarez says there will be no final vote because Commissioner Manolo Reyes-who opposes the deal- demands the staff bring back a contract that's incomplete. Last November, 60-percent of Miami voters said "YES" to amending the charter authorizing the city to skip its normal bidding process to negotiate a long-term lease with Freedom Park.
