DNA Helps ID Suspect In FL Cold Case Rape

DNA evidence is pointing to a suspect in a decades-old south Florida rape case.

It involved a Coral Springs woman who was raped in her home in 1983.

Police tell CNN the DNA from the crime scene was lab-tested decades ago, but the technology was not sophisticated enough back then to provide any solid leads.

The victim requested law enforcement try again in March, and the sample tested gave a positive result this June.

Timothy Norris who is serving time in West Virginia for armed robbery now awaits extradition back to Florida to face rape charges.
