Miami-Dade Mayor Visits Homestead Detention Center

What's it really like inside the Homestead Detention Center? That all depends on who you ask. The Democrats say the kids are living in prison like conditions with up to 150 in one room. They say they only have 15 minutes to eat and have little access to proper health care, hygiene products and schooling. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez toured the facility Tuesday and has a completely different take. He says the teens were sleeping in bunk beds with no more than 8 in a room and were learning English in school. Since June, the US Department of Health and Human Services stopped adding new kids there and has downsized the population from 27-hundred to 13-hundred.
