Winston Excited To See Former Teammate Who Was Great Influence

For the second straight game, Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston will look across the line of scrimmage & see a former teammate when Tampa Bay faces Carolina on Thursday night.

This past off-season Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians & general manager Jason Licht made the decision to release defensive tackle Gerald McCoy. What they didn't know when they released McCoy was that the 10 year veteran would sign with a division rival. But weeks after being released by the team that drafted him in 2010, McCoy signed with the Carolina Panthers. And on Thursday night, the Buccaneers will look across the field at Bank of America Stadium & see the six-time Pro Bowl player on the other sideline sporting a different uniform.

Two days before the matchup between the two NFC South teams, Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston spoke with the media about facing his former teammate.
