Tulane (2-9, 1-6) snapped their eight game losing streak by blowing out USF (2-9, 1-6) 45-14 on Saturday afternoon.
USF scored first and looked good doing so when Kelly Joiner ran in a 24-yard touchdown on the opening drive. However, Tulane answered with 28 points in the first quarter, and another touchdown in the second quarter, to go into halftime leading 35-7.
The Green Wave got another touchdown in the third quarter en route to 45 points on the day. USF only got on the board a second time with 5:37 to go when Cade Fortin ran in a 9-yard touchdown to make the final score 45-14.
Timmy McClain went 15-for-27 with 132 yards passing, no touchdowns, and an interception before being relieved by Cade Fortin. Fortin went 5-for-9 with 42 yards passing in his time at quarterback. Kelly Joiner set the tone on the ground, rushing for 95 yards and a touchdown to lead USF.
The Bulls now wrap up the 2021 season on Friday when they meet UCF in the War on I-4. Kickoff on Friday is scheduled for 3:30 PM - pregame coverage begins at 1:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
