Tulsa delivered a heartbreaking loss to USF on Saturday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium. The Golden Hurricane put together a nine-play, forty-two yard drive to score a touchdown and take a 32-31 lead with forty-seven seconds left in the game that would deliver a heartbreaking loss to the USF Bulls.
The Bulls scored first in this game, getting a field goal with 10:51 left in the first quarter. After Tulsa tied the game with a first quarter field goal, USF took the lead in the second quarter and built a 24-10 lead with 5:54 to go in the quarter. Tulsa came up with ten points in 1:10 to go in the half to pull within 24-20, which would prove to be consequential as the game went on.
Though USF scored late in the third quarter to take a 31-20 lead, Tulsa was able to take the game in the fourth. After scoring with 10:57 to go to pull within 31-26, the Golden Hurricanes made the plays they needed to down the stretch. USF tried to ice the game with a fourth down attempt with 4:20 to go, but Tulsa got the fourth down stop. From there they put together the game winning drive to stun the USF Bulls fans at Raymond James Stadium.
