The 15th ranked BYU Cougars (4-0) defeated the USF Bulls (1-3) 35-27 on Saturday night in Provo, Utah.
BYU built a big first half lead, scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter on their way to a 28-6 lead at halftime. USF clawed back into the game, pulling as close as 35-27 when they scored with 5:41 to go in the fourth, but BYU made the first downs they needed from that point on to secure the win.
Timmy McClain went 17-for-24 with 186 yards passing for USF. Jaren Mangham set the pace for USF in the running game, rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
USF returns to action next Saturday when they travel to take on SMU. Kickoff from Dallas on October 2nd is scheduled for 4:00 PM - pregame coverage begins at 3:00 PM on AM 1250 WHNZ.
